The Definition Of Insanity?
Results are in from the Student Association elections at MSU.
The results are no surprise to anyone. The Greek candidates have, once again, won convincing margins.
The only items of interest in this race:
The results are no surprise to anyone. The Greek candidates have, once again, won convincing margins.
The only items of interest in this race:
- Voter turnout may be at an all-time low. Estimates put it between one-third to one-half of last year's participation. This is with additional polling locations.
- At least two spots on the ballot were uncontested.
- One of the candidates, who won his race, is actually out of town interning.
Perhaps, finally, students are beginning to realize just how useless this organization really is.

five additions:
the number of students voting in SA elections was 1520 (only 1500 cast a vote for president).
our dumb sob students believe excerising democracy and campaigning is harrassment.
vitart (treasurer)(the one gone interning) was on campus campaigning monday and tuesday and ranked third in campaign visibility behind #1 TJ Harvey (pres) and #2 Jon David Cole (pres). his opposition was a lone wolf and clearly out matched and out supported despite being fraternity brothers with jon david cole.
there was NO SA get out the vote effort or emphasis on why students should vote.
the normal time to campaign was cute short (just 2 weeks) when normally it is 2 months plus limiting the time candidates have to go speak to campus organzations leaving all but the large ones ignored with no independent GOTV effort.
students don't care and the SA doesn't show them why. and with jon david cole's election over TJ Harvey, it goes to show us that things won't be changing. Sad, but true.
